THERE’S a cracking season of comedy lined up for the Alhambra Studio in the new year.

On Thursday, February 19 Stephen K Amos, the “maestro of feelgood comedy”, hits the stage with his show, Welcome to My World, and on Monday, March 9 Alun Cochrane presents Me Neither, described as “cheerfully miserable stand-up”, following a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Festival.

On Friday, March 13 there’s An Evening of Comedy from Romesh & Suzi.

Fresh from supporting some of the UK’s top comedians, including Alan Carr, on sell-out tours including Suzi Ruffell hits the road with her hotly anticipated second show, Social Chameleon, while Romesh Ranganathan presents Rom Wasn’t Built In A Day. The last 18 months have been incredible for Romesh, with him winning the Leicester Mercury New Act Award 2013 and his critically-acclaimed Edinburgh Festival debut being nominated for the coveted Best Newcomer Award. He appeared on the panel on the final of The Apprentice on BBC1.

Patrick Monahan hits Bradford on Saturday, March 28 with his show, Adventures in Monahan Land. Renowned for his playful audience interaction, clean material and, yes, hugs, Patrick’s stand-up show is refreshingly suitable for all the family.

Also at the Alhambra Studio is the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club, providing a fun night out every month with a line-up of great comedians.

It kicks off on Friday, January 9 with Andy Askins, Dan Nightingale and Adam Rowe providing the laughs, then on Saturday, February 14 Barry Dodds, Dan Thomas and Tom Stade will be lining up for another promising night of comedy.

On Saturday, March 14 there’s more rib-tickling from Paul Tonkinson, Wes Zaharuk and Scott Bennett, and on Saturday, April 11 the line-up will comprise Mick Ferry, Jonny Awsum and Allyson Smith.

The MC for the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club is Damion Larkin.
