THE leader of the Conservative group at Bradford Council was welcomed back to meetings on Tuesday night after a bereavement absence.
Worth Valley councillor Glen Miller lost his wife of 33 years, Vivienne, to cancer in October.
He was welcomed back to council proceedings by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons, at a meeting of the full council at Bradford's City Hall.
Local government rules dictate that if any councillor fails to attend full council meetings for more than six months, all councillors must vote on whether his or her reason for absence is acceptable.
The authority had been due to take such a vote, as Cllr Miller hadn't been attending full council meetings since July and wasn't expected at this week's meeting.
However, as he turned up, this vote was cancelled.
