A DERELICT building that has stood empty for 30 yeas will this week finally be demolished.
The shop, on Chapeltown, Pudsey, lies in a town conservation area, but after decades of not being used has become an eyesore.
Local councillors Richard Lewis, Josie Jarosz and Mick Coulson (Lab) have previously asked for action to be taken.
In August, the demolition of the property was approved following successful discussions between Leeds City Council’s Asset Management and Regeneration Team and the property’s owners. The councillors have now confirmed demolition will begin today.
Cllr Lewis thanked the property owners for their cooperation.
