A PRIMARY school has officially opened its state of the art science lab.
Bowling Park Primary School now has a high-spec lab featuring the latest, innovative learning resources, such as new audio visual systems, a 3D viewing experience and hands-on investigations, which will be put to use under the leadership of the school’s newly appointed Scientist in Residence, Sheila Thomas.
Principal of the school, in Usher Street, Stuart Herrington said the new facility had been in the planning for 18 months.
He said staff came up with the idea when considering what preparations were needed for the introduction of the new National Curriculum, which has a greater focus on sciences.
The laboratory was officially opened at an event called To Infinity and Beyond.
