A MAN who set up a small cannabis farm because he was severely depressed and desperate for money has been sentenced to six months imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, with 150 hours of unpaid work.
Brian Evans, 34, a cleaning company worker, grew 20 cannabis plants at his home in Acton Street , Bradford Moor, Bradford.
The street value of the yield was up to £7,700.
Evans admitted production of cannabis at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court and was sent to the crown court for sentence.
Yesterday, the court was told that he was very remorseful and had taken positive steps to change his life.
