A FUNERAL company is asking people to get knitting to raise money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Co-operative Funeralcare will be giving out wool and patterns from its bases on Norman Lane at Five Lane Ends, Tong Street, and in Allerton.
The knitted poppies are then sold in the run-up to Remembrance Day. Last year the initiative raised £390.
A spokesman for Co-operative said: "We provide the wool and pattern and just ask them to knit.
"So if you know one end of a knitting needle from another, or are well versed with knit one, purl one, then drop into your local funeral home."
The patterns are available until November 1, 2014. For more details, ring (01274) 634637.
