Colin Todd today reassured City fans: Nathan Doyle is ours for the season.

The Bantams are still waiting for Derby to rubber-stamp the youngster's loan move for the rest of the campaign.

But they do not anticipate any more hold-ups in getting the deal done before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday night.

Todd said: "Nathan is definitely with us to the end of the season. It's been agreed with Derby manager Billy Davies.

"It was always the plan to keep Nathan, as it was with Lee Holmes before he obviously had to go back with the injury. Billy's happy to do it and all we need is them to send back the paperwork."

Right back Doyle, pictured below, who will make his 30th City start on Saturday, has been on a one-month emergency loan because an extension to his initial deal was not signed in time.

If it is not sealed by the end of January, he would return to Pride Park after the Nottingham Forest home game.

But Todd expects everything will be sorted out and hopes the 19-year-old can maintain the eye-catching form that he has shown throughout his Valley Parade stay.

"He has been brilliant for us," added Todd. "There have been some consistent performances from quite a few of the players but Nathan's been right up there."

Todd received another boost yesterday with the news that Omar Daley has received his international clearance from the United States Soccer Federation. That will allow the Jamaican winger to feature in the squad to face Yeovil this weekend.

Todd said: "Omar has settled in well with us although he's already had a few experiences on the training ground. It was too muddy on Monday and frozen solid Tuesday so no doubt it will be snowing down there next!"

City are confident the Valley Pitch will be fine for the weekend. Tuesday's reserve game with Leeds was called off because of a frozen goalmouth.
