Bradford Council is being asked to find funding to enable long-term plans to be made for a programme of events such as the Big Summer last year.
The regeneration and economy improvement committee heard how the wide-range of festivals and events between June and September attracted more than 900,000 visitors, who spent nearly £15 million at these events, and nearly £14 million elsewhere in Bradford.
These events included the Mela, book, literature and illuminate festivals, and the Party in the Park in Bingley.
To enable future programmes to be planned, the Council will be asked to investigate providing a three-year rolling budget to allow more effective planning.
