Councillors will hold talks with a property tycoon to discuss a scheme which would incorporate a £6 million bridge over a traffic-choked railway crossing.

District and parish councillors will meet Brian Verity, managing director of Skipton Properties, on Thursday, February 1 to look at the company's plan to pay for a bridge over Kildwick crossing in return for a housing development.

The new homes would be built on 30 acres of green field land between the crossing and Eastburn Beck.

Mr Verity has argued that there is a price to pay and that means more development.

Glusburn parish councillors discussed the proposal at their last meeting.
