Homeowners are being warned to keep valuables out of sight after a spate of house burglaries.
Police in Ilkley say they are worried that there have been a number of burglaries at homes in the Wharfe Valley where burglars have gained entry by forcing open rear windows.
Jewellery, money and car keys which were left on view have been taken during the raids.
PC Adrian Foyston, Ilkley Crime Reduction Officer, reminded homeowners to keep all valuables out of sight, day and night.
He said: "These burglaries have occurred when occupants have left valuables on view near to a vulnerable point of entry.
"Simply removing jewellery and money from near to windows and doors reduces the opportunity for these offences being committed."
