An annual charity ball which looked set to end after 20 years could be set for a reprieve.
Organisers of the Holly Ball, in Ilkley, are considering staging the event again next year after strong support at what could have been its last event.
More than 200 people attended the 20th Anniversary ball at the Craiglands Hotel just before Christmas.
Organiser Fiona Mann of Mann Made Events, said: "Costs were considerably higher than in previous years, partly as we wanted to make our 20th year extra special.
"We will still be able to hand over a significant donation to Yorkshire Cancer Research, the benefiting charity, once we have tied up all the loose ends."
Mrs Mann said the 2006 ball was intended to be the final Christmas ball, but because of such positive feedback, a 2007 event is being considered.
Anyone who wants to be added to the mailing list for a potential 2007 Holly Ball can call Mann Made Events on (01943) 830533.
