Bradford firefighters were called to make safe a gas pipe that ignited in Curzon Road, Bradford Moor.
The alarm was raised just before 6pm on Saturday when burning rubbish behind a house set the pipe alight.
Firefighters put out the blaze and stayed at the scene until Transco arrived.
