Jermaine Johnson has a message for City fans awaiting the arrival of Omar Daley: Trust me, you'll love him.

Daley will turn up for his first training session on Monday after flying in from Jamaica on Saturday.

And Johnson, pictured below, is convinced his Reggae Boyz team-mate, who has got 22 international caps and nine goals, will waste no time in becoming a firm favourite at Valley Parade.

JJ said: "I know Omar is really looking forward to being here and he is going to do very well.

"The fans have been good since I've been at the club, getting right behind me, and I'm sure they will be the same with Omar because he is a great player.

"He is very quick going up the wing - quicker than me, so it would be a good race between us. He can pass and shoot and is a strong tackler as well - the gaffer can put him anywhere in the team and he will do a good job."

Colin Todd has given Daley his second chance in English football - as he did with Johnson. The 25-year-old had a previous spell with Reading and Preston before joining Charleston Battery in America's USL.

He played 29 games last season and scored three goals with four assists.

Johnson added: "Omar didn't get in the team that much when he was in England before and mainly played as a substitute. That's why he is desperate to play football again over here and show everyone he is at his best.

"It will motivate him having other Jamaican players here. He has seen how Donovan (Ricketts) and I have done and he doesn't want to be the first one to come over and not do a good job.

"He's going to be more comfortable knowing a couple of us already and he's a guy who likes to talk and get along with players so he will settle in quickly.

"I think he will excite people and he will do well for Bradford."
