A SECRET cake club has celebrated the recent Tour de France Grand Depart with cakes representing the race.
The Saltaire branch of the Clandestine Cake Club met this week qt Vicars Cafe Bistro in the village, with the theme 'Le Tour That Was'.
"I set a theme for each event which provides an opportunity for people to be creative in what they bake. It's always interesting seeing how people interpret the theme," said Shirley Quarmby, who set up the club two years ago. We meet on a monthly basis at a different venue, which is only revealed on a ‘need to know’ basis to those members who have booked. This maintains the ‘clandestine’ element!
"The evening is spent socialising, drinking and eating cake."
