A mother is calling for safety measures at a tarn, claiming that deep mud could pose a danger to small children. Nicola Powell, of Guiseley, wants warning signs or fencing to alert visitors to the potential danger at Yeadon Tarn. Mrs Powell spotted the dangers during a family outing when her eight-year-old son Callum sank into mud up to his knees. "He was covered in mud up to his waist. After thinking about it, we realised just how dangerous this could be," she said. Mrs Powell was at the tarn with her younger children Liberty, six, and Dyllan, five. She added: "I never saw any warning signs from the car park about this deep mud, This area should be fenced off. It is very, very dangerous."
