Cadets at Ilkley's 1224 (Wharfedale) Squadron Air Training Corps (ATC) are celebrating after winning the Sir Douglas Bader Wings' Appeal Trophy for the highest per cadet average collection for the charity, the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA). Total funds raised throughout 2006 were £7,053.72, by the Ashlands Road based squadron, which works out at an average £227.54 for each cadet. Since September 1, 1996 the squadron has raised a total of £45,649.70 for RAFA.
