An illusionist and cancer sufferer has organised a night of entertainment in Bradford to raise money for charities that are helping him battle his illness.

Now in remission, Craig Kidd, who lives in North Yorkshire and is a member of a Masonic lodge in Baildon, was diagnosed with Lymphoma and liver vancer in 2005, and he has barely performed since.

He returns to the stage in a cast including Berni Flint, Billy Pearce, Jane Tracie and The Bird Man for the All Star Charity Variety Night'.

It takes place at The Cedar Court Hotel, Mayo Avenue, Bradford, on Saturday, February 10, in aid of five cancer charities.

Close friends Lady Jackie Bains and Gerald Wilde were drafted in by Mr Kidd to help.

He said: "Gerald is also a cancer patient and is an old school teacher of mine. We were diagnosed at the same time and both went into remission at the same time.

"I am still in a lot of pain and having regular check-ups, but I'm in good spirits." he said.

Funds raised will be split equally between The Wakefield Oncology Leukaemia Fund, The Dr Jackson Cancer Fund, The Annette Fox Leukaemia Research Fund, The Lymphoma Association and Cavendish Cancer Care. People at the Wakefield charity treated Mr Kidd and the Dr Jackson Cancer Fund assisted Mr Wilde.

Doors open at 6.30pm with the show starting at 7.30pm. Entry is by advance ticket only, they cost £22 and can be bought by calling Mr Kidd on 07710293031.
