ARMED police were deployed after an apparent carjacking in Bradford where a teenager was attacked before a car was driven off.
Officers investigating the incident, which involved a gang of offenders, were told one appeared to be armed with a pistol so firearms officers were scrambled.
The incident happened at about 5.40pm yesterday when a green Skoda car was reported to have been stolen on Birklea Street in the West Bowling area.
Detective Sergeant Rob Worley of Bradford CID said: "A group of Asian men attended an address on Birklea Street and assaulted a 17-year-old male before making away with the vehicle. One of the men is reported to have been armed with a handgun."
The Skoda was later located on Chello Street.
Witnesses are asked to contact the non emergency number 101.
