Pupils at a Bradford school joined forces with a woodland conservation charity to plant a copse in their grounds to raise awareness of the environment.
Children at St Oswald's CofE Primary School in Cross Lane, Great Horton, teamed up with leading charity, the Woodland Trust, to plant trees and shrubs as part of its Tree For All' campaign.
The campaign is the largest children's tree-planting mission the UK has ever seen.
Planting and using a copse can contribute to Key Stage 2 science, numeracy, literacy and art and design.
The five-year project, launched in 2004, will see one million children plant 12 million trees.
Paul Bunton, of The Woodland Trust, said: "For many of these children, this was the first time they had ever planted a tree. Educating today's children about the benefit of looking after our environment will help protect the forests of tomorrow."
