Bradford City's star striker Dean Windass is joining Hull City for the rest of the season in a shock move.
City had given their prolific leading scorer permission to talk to his home-town club today about a short-term deal until the end of the season.
It was confirmed this afternoon that Windass had agreed a deal with the Tigers.
Hull are desperate for an experienced head in their fight to beat the drop from the Championship after losing Nicky Barmby through injury.
And they believe 37-year-old Windass will be an ideal replacement for the next few months.
It is thought City will receive a six-figure loan fee and chairman Julian Rhodes admitted it was a decision based on economics.
He said: "We've got bills to pay - it's as simple as that. We've got to do something in January to raise money.
"It's only a loan until the end of the season and he is our player then.
Windass is easily the Bantams' top scorer this season with 12 goals and his departure will put pressure on the rest of the team to find the net.
City boss Colin Todd said the move was for purely financial reasons rather than football.
