The Windhill and Wrose branch of the Labour Party has selected a candidate to represent them in the forthcoming local elections in May.
Susan Hinchcliffe lives in the ward and attended local schools including Salt Grammar. She is also a member of Christchurch in Windhill.
She will stand in place of long-standing Labour Councillor Tony Miller who is retiring after 25 years on Bradford Council.
She said: "Tony is going to be a hard act to follow, he has served the people of Windhill and Wrose well, but I am up for the challenge. I will be giving 100 per cent to retain Windhill and Wrose for Labour so that we can continue working hard for the people who live there."
