City are keeping tabs on Huddersfield left back Danny Adams.

The 31-year-old has been told he can leave the Galpharm by Peter Jackson - a decision that has alerted Colin Todd.

The Bantams chief revealed that Adams, who got sent off at Valley Parade in October, is in his thinking but he is likely to wait until the summer to make any move.

Todd said: "I don't see anything happening at this moment but he is a name on the list for next season.

"We are light in that position. If Ben Parker goes, then we've really got nobody there. I could put in Matt Clarke but we do need another genuine left back."

On-loan Parker is currently City's only specialist left back but he will go back to Leeds at the end of the season. Todd could also call on untried youngster Luke O'Brien but is looking for more experience.

The shaven-headed Adams joined Huddersfield from Stockport in March 2005 after a lengthy spell with Macclesfield. He has made 77 appearances but recently lost his place to teenager Joe Skarz.

Adams has got a reputation for his enthusiastic, no-nonsense approach - and was red-carded in the West Yorkshire derby after a clash with Nathan Doyle. He was sent off again three weeks later against Brighton.

Town boss Jackson said: "Danny is getting married this summer and is keen to get himself sorted out.

"He is out of contract and asked about the possibility of a new deal for next season. I told him that was something that cannot be guaranteed and we agreed to circulate his name.

"Danny has been an excellent player, on and off the pitch, and this decision is no reflection of his performances."

City's hand could be forced if Jackson allows Adams to quit the club early and go out on loan.

Meanwhile, City have denied rumours linking Dean Windass with a loan move to Sunderland until the end of the season. Chairman Julian Rhodes said: "I don't know anything about it."
