An action-packed day of netball helped raise an estimated £6,000 for cancer charities.
The ten-hour Netballathon held at the Lighthouse, Bradford, saw sides do battle on the court in nine matches, but all for a good cause.
Teams made up of netball players from across West Yorkshire, boyfriends and mums, who have been affected by cancer, and others from as afield as Bury help raise cash for Cancer Research UK and MacMillan Nurses.
Kate McGuire, who staged the event on Saturday alongside Sarah Drake and Katie Pierce, said: “We cannot believe the success that one day of netball could have had.
“We are likely to hit the £6,000 mark once we have collected all our money in.
“Like many people our lives have been affected by cancer and we thought our love for netball could help us raise money towards such a valuable cause.”
