A campaign to raise £1,500 to help a diabetic teenager from Haworth has crossed the £1,000 mark.
The appeal was launched to fund a diabetic alert dog for 16-year-old Brooke Kirtley, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last October.
A diabetic alert dog will be able to detect when Brooke’s blood sugar level is high or low. It can warn her to take her medication. Brooke’s mum Mandy Kirtley said they would soon start choosing a dog.
