Firefighters on the way back from a job gave first aid to a man who had badly cut his head when he fell out of a Bradford pub last night.
Police flagged down fire crews from Bradford station as they drove towards the Boy and Barrel on Westgate at 8.50pm.
A fire service spokesman said: “A man had fallen head first out of the pub and caused a severe gash to his head – there was quite a lot of blood.
“We put a collar on him and treated him for his injuries and waited for an ambulance arrived.”
The firefighters had been returning from a call-out to a fire alarm being triggered.
