Three young riders have been awarded for their progress in caring for ponies after training at a Bradford riding school.
Bethan Jones, nine, Mary Ellen, 12 and Peter Glenton, five, enjoyed an afternoon of training at Throstle Nest Riding for the Disabled Group, Fagley, after which they received badges and certificates for their success in the RDA progressive tests. During the day they groomed ponies, learned about their different markings, about the saddles and bridles the animals wear and how to attach them.
The riding club is in the middle of a battle over its future, after plans for a major housing estate were submitted for the land it is based on.
