Spen Valley residents can learn about the dangers of loan sharks during a week of action by West Yorkshire Trading Standards in Kirklees.
The organisation wants to help Kirklees Council spread the message that illegal money lenders are not welcome in the area.
A spokesman said: “Loan sharks are criminals that lend money to people, without legal authority to do so, and when it comes to reclaiming the loan, resort to intimidating and sometimes violent methods.
“Loan sharks are not your friends.”
In a bid to raise awareness and encourage Kirklees residents to create a firm stance on the subject, a week of action has been planned across the district from January 25.
