Bettys Cookery School has beaten dozens of other cookery schools from across the nation to win the accolade of Best Large Recreational Cookery School at the British Cookery School Awards.
The results were announced on Monday, November 11 at an awards ceremony held at the Vintners’ Company in London.
The event was hosted by head judge and BBC Radio 2’s food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden.
Nigel said: “Bettys Cookery School are a passionate team that hold their heritage of craftsmanship and Yorkshire warmth at the heart of all they do.
“They have built on the vision outlined over decade ago by founder Lesley Wild and taken their skills, passion and love of food out to customers, staff and now not only to the local community but right across the county.”
Emma Wray, Bettys Cookery School manager added: “The judging criteria for the Best Large Recreational category was incredibly tough.
“We were up against some of the best of Britain’s cookery schools, so to win this award is absolutely brilliant! 2013 has been an amazing year for everyone on the team and this British Cookery School Award honour really is the icing on the cake.”
