Dean Windass today admitted: I'm as guilty as the rest that we can't score goals.

And the City hitman vowed to put it right by ending the drought against Chesterfield at Valley Parade.

Colin Todd's side have scored only twice in the last six games, both in the win over Leyton Orient.

Windass was suspended for three of those but held up his hand for not hitting the target on his return in Tuesday's shattering FA Cup loss to Millwall.

"If it was a boxing match, the ref would have stopped it by half-time," said Windass. "But if you don't put your chances away then you suffer.

"I missed a free header which I'd score every day in training and another chance which I should take.

"If I'd got either of those, we'd have won without a doubt but I just felt we weren't going to score.

"It was very hard to take and the lads were absolutely devastated afterwards. But we won't need picking up tomorrow because the performance was very good. If we play like that again in the Chesterfield game then we'll be fine."

City have not won a league game at home since beating Tranmere on September 30 and Todd is coming in for flak from some sections.

But the Bantams boss, who insists he does not feel under pressure, is pinning his hopes on another display like midweek to stop the rot.

Todd said: "If we put in a performance like that then nine times out of ten you will come out winners.

"If we can keep creating the chances then the goals will start to go in again.

"We've been a little sketchy but without harking back too much, we spent 80 minutes with ten men against Bournemouth and must have hit the woodwork five or six times in the Millwall games and got nothing to show for it.

"We got everything right with our performance on Tuesday except the result. But if we can play at the same level in the Chesterfield game, then we have nothing to worry about.

"If JJ can do what he did the other night then I'm convinced he will score; if Deano gets the same opportunities, they will go in; if Eddie Johnson keeps getting in the box and we get the right quality from set-plays then he will score.

"The lads couldn't have given me any more on Tuesday. And if we play like that again then I can guarantee we will score goals."
