Aussie Ben Harris wants to extend his stay at Bradford.

The Bulls centre sees his contract expire at the end of the forthcoming season but is keen to win a new deal at Grattan Stadium.

Since joining from Canterbury Bulldogs in June last year, Harris has notched 18 tries in 51 games, establishing himself as a consistent performer in Super League.

He is enjoying the English style of rugby and would love to sign on for more.

"I'm contracted for this year but nothing's been said yet about after that," said Harris. "I'm quite happy with where I am at the moment though and if I get offered another contract I'd be happy to continue playing for Bradford. It's been a good move for me.

"I've just come back from a month in Australia and that's been my first time home in the 18 months I've been over in England.

"It was good to catch up with and see my family and friends but now I'm looking forward to the season starting again."

Still only 23, Harris bucked the trend by arriving in England at the onset of his career.

Tough and uncompromising, he solved the problem centre position in 2005, arriving mid-season to help charge the Bulls to their unlikely Grand Final success, and was equally as durable last season.

Boss Steve McNamara used him in the second row at times and some feel that is potentially his best long-term role.

McNamara has signed another Aussie - James Evans - from Huddersfield Giants and he will make Harris fight for his centre spot alongside Shontayne Hape.

Harris said: "He'll give me some competition and that will be good for me.

"Steve's not said anything yet about where I'll be playing next season. If he wants me to fill in at second row I will but I like centre as well.

"The squad's looking pretty strong again at the moment."
