Colin Todd has no doubts he can lift City's chins off the floor for Saturday.

The players were today on a second day off to recharge the batteries three London trips in eight days.

And Todd is confident the morale in the dressing room will be fine by kick-off time against Chesterfield at Valley Parade.

City are desperate to buck the losing trend in the league after banking only five points from a possible 27 - a slump that has inevitably turned the focus on the manager.

But Todd said: "It's up to me to make sure we are motivated again and I will do.

"People talk about managers being under pressure but I don't feel it. I will always get the maximum out of the players.

"They showed that at Millwall on Tuesday by giving everything and I was gutted for them that the result ended in that manner. It was a very harsh way to lose.

"There were a lot of very tired bodies in there afterwards and not getting back until 4am made it even harder. You've got to be sensible with the players which is why I've given them today off as well."

Steve Schumacher, who played so well at the New Den, is banned after reaching five yellow cards. And Todd will also run a fitness check on several players who reported knocks from the gruelling FA Cup tie.

Ben Parker is almost certain to miss Saturday with a hamstring injury while Dean Windass (ankle) and Nathan Doyle (groin) were feeling the effects after the game.
