The Bulls have had to ditch their friendly against Warrington and now have no warm-up games at Grattan Stadium.

Steve McNamara's side were supposed to tackle the Wolves on Sunday, January 7 but they have vetoed the fixture due to problems with the Odsal pitch.

They will still open their pre-season campaign on the same day but now head to Dewsbury Rams instead, kick-off 3pm.

Media, PR and football manager Stuart Duffy explained: "Our pitch does need remedial work doing to it and we've taken that advice.

"We have been told if we don't correct it now we'll have bigger problems later and we couldn't guarantee the game would have gone ahead.

"This is the only time we've had to do the work as the England Schoolboys played at Odsal last week.

"We couldn't stage the game at Warrington because they've got pitch work on-going as well but we were due to arrange a friendly with Dewsbury and that now takes its place."

After the Ram Stadium appointment, Bulls have a week in Lanzarote warm-weather training before returning for their second friendly at Super League new boys Hull KR.

That falls on Sunday, January 21 but the kick-off time has been brought forward from 3pm to 2pm.

Bradford visit Wakefield Trinity Wildcats a week later and round off their warm-up games with another away fixture at Keighley Cougars on Friday, February 2.
