Staff at the BASF chemical plant at Low Moor, Bradford, will take part in a safety day and gain first aid knowledge tomorrow. The event also aims to raise funds for St John Ambulance, the company’s charity of the year.
St John Ambulance will be running workshops on first aid in the home and demonstrating how to save a life. The charity will also stage defibrillator demonstrations to show how the machine can save lives in the event of a heart attack.
Joanne Love, BASF site communicator, said: “At BASF we place first aid and health and safety of paramount importance and the purpose of our day is to raise awareness of how first aid can save lives.
“We have more than 700 staff at the Bradford site and our theme is around risk and reducing first aid cases so the St John Ambulance charity fits perfectly. We also wanted to increase awareness of first aid in the home for our employees. We hope to raise as much money as possible for St John Ambulance.”
