Bradford councillor Keith Dredge has been chosen to lead the county’s bus travel watchdog.
He has pledged to “bang the drum” for the district as he chairs the bus scrutiny committee of the West Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority.
Coun Dredge (Lab, Keighley West) travels regularly on buses and chats with fellow passengers about local issues.
He said his regular journeys gave an insight into problems faced by bus users.
He said: “We’re listening to what people have to say. I also find it useful to meet councillors from other authorities. I’m more than glad to hear from people about their bus issues.”
