Bradford's One Direction pop star Zayn Malik has proposed to his girlfriend Perrie Edwards from the band Little Mix, his mum Trisha has confirmed to the Telegraph & Argus.
Mrs Malik said: "It's true. I'm very happy. She is a lovely girl. I get on with her really well and her family are great, too. I wish them all the happiness in the world."
Zayn, 20, is said to have got down on one knee in the traditional manner and proposed to Perrie, also 20.
She wore her engagement ring to the premiere of One Direction's fly-on-the-wall film, This Is Us, at London's Leicester Square last night.
