Plans for Positive Bradford’s day long celebration of all that is good about the district takes place on September 28 and plans are starting to take shape.
The line up is expected to involve some of the district’s biggest businesses as in previous years and will take place once again in City Park.
The day was moved to accommodate the Saltaire Arts Festival on September 14 and 15.
It is the third year for Positive Bradford originally set up to celebrate all that is good about the district after negative press about Bradford.
This year’s event list includes the Bradford dragon hunt for children, showing all the architecture and old buildings around Bradford. There will also be all day demonstrations of martial arts called onna jujitsu demonstrations.
The Freedoms studios will get pop up theatre to the event, so keep your eyes open as anybody could be an actor and there will be a pensioners warehouse, an all day window displaying 50per cent off for pensioners with a few surprises.
The Interschool children’s choir, involving school children coming together to sing in unity, a celebration of the young people in Bradford will be happening, as will the Apple cafe YMCA, demonstrating an apple press and all the amazing Yorkshire and northern apples.
Bradfactor, with an an appearance of some of their finalists and a Trishool dance school and Asian arts demonstrating traditional Bollywood and bhangra dance on the stage with all day classes running by Punjabi arts on DJing and dancing.
Trishool dance school will also run classes on Bollywood dance.
An appearance from the Northern Ballet is also on the cards and Rob Dziekanski, an up and coming opera star, will be serenading the public.
Panache Cheerschool 2014, recently back from being finalists in cheerleading in America, will be dazzling with their pom poms.
Actor Tom Milner, who stars in Waterloo Road, will be coming down to give a few songs.
One of the organisers Jane Vincent said: “The deadline for people to let us know if they want to be involved is August 1 and we have forms coming in every single day.
“There is still a chance for people to get involved and there is still space on stage. We are building the marquee and so far it is so diverse.
“We have the Northern Ballet, Tom Milner, some big corporates, but to get involved get on the website and sign up.”
