A former Keighley mayor has thanked everyone who contributed to the good causes he backed during his year in office.
Town councillor George Metcalf was the mayor for 2012-13, and raised a total of £3,200 with his mayoral appeal.
He said he was able to collect £1,000 for the Keighley and Airedale Cancer Support group, £1,000 for the Children’s Ward at Airedale Hospital and £1,200 to help injured soldiers from the 3rd Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment.
“These are all causes that are close to my heart, and I want to express my gratitude to everyone who helped me raise this money,” he said.
