A long-running row over a blocked footpath has crawled up Leeds City Council’s ‘disputes’ waiting list – to number 26.
It has now been more than six years since scores of residents submitted evidence to support Piggy Lane being adopted.
They are adamant that the path, between Lisker Drive and Leeds Road, was used by locals for decades before a high wall and greenhouse were built at either end a number of years ago.
Resident David Mowlam has been trying to keep up the pressure on the city council to deal with the issue, but is angry and dispirited at how slow things are moving.
The council’s Public Rights of Way department said the application is now at number 26 in the list.
Mr Mowlam said this case had moved from 28 to 26, despite three being resolved. “Three steps forward, one step back,” he said.
