Detectives continued to quiz a suspect last night about a street shooting in Bradford, as the victim underwent further surgery.
A 27-year-old man, named locally as Eugene Nelson, suffered serious injuries to his face and shoulder after being peppered by shotgun pellets in a brazen attack outside Holmewood Social Club, on the Holme Wood estate.
He had initial surgery on Wednesday, at an undisclosed hospital where he is detained, to remove pellets from his face, and was yesterday having a further operation. Officers are waiting to speak to him.
Detectives are still trying to establish a motive for the attack, but it is understood there had been a previous dispute between the two groups.
A 35-year-old man from Halifax was arrested yesterday morning in connection with the shooting. He remained in custody for questioning last night. It is understood the man handed himself in, accompanied by his solicitor, at a Bradford police station.
Police are urging anyone who can help to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, via 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
