The mirror pool at City Park, Bradford, is among the places to be to cool off as the summer heatwave continues.

The multi-award-winning city centre attraction, built at a cost of £24.5 million, is also proving its financial worth – bringing in an estimated £2.66 million in visitor spending, according to new statistics produced for Bradford Council.

City Park was the venue for 25 events in 2012/13 which attracted an estimated 223,600 people. A report to the Council’s regeneration and economy committee, which meets next week to discuss its impact, states: “Designing the mirror pool to be interactive has attracted people back into the heart of the city to relax, have fun and bring the community together. City Park has put Bradford back on the map.”
