Ilkley actress Georgie Henley has just celebrated her 18th birthday – and is gearing up for the launch of her new movie.
Georgie (second left) shot to fame in the big-screen adaptations of CS Lewis’ classic children’s books about the magical world of Narnia – first playing Lucy Pevensie in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe when she was just nine-years-old.
Two more Narnia stories followed – Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader – but Georgie, who was born in Ilkley and lived here with mum Helen, dad Mike and her two sisters, is now bringing darker fare to the screen.
Filming work has completed on The Sisterhood of Night and Georgie’s legion of fans is awaiting a release date for the picture, which is described as a modern re-telling of the Salem witch trials of the 17th Century.
