Airedale Hospital audiology manager Andy Smethurst is getting on his bike to raise money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
He is joining four friends to tackle a coast-to-coast ride.
The group will set off from Blackpool on Monday and aims to complete the 170-mile route in Bridlington three days later.
Mr Smethurst, 44, deputy audiology service manager for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said: “My goal is to raise a minimum of £170 – £1 per mile cycled.”
