A schoolgirl from Menston finished fourth in the french section of a national final of a foreign language spelling bee. Emilia Corkery, from St Mary’s Catholic High School, competed in the Foreign Language Spelling Bee at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. A total of 52,423 youngsters from 375 schools across the country took part.
