A post mistress is demanding compensation after gas workers cut through a phone cable leaving her unable to serve customers for five days and more than £1,000 out of pocket.
Yoshika Wiley, who runs Ben Rhydding Post Office, found all her systems went down on Monday, July 8, when engineers working on behalf of Northern Gas Network cut through an underground BT cable in Bolling Road.
Emma Tennant, at BT, confirmed the cable cut by the Northern Gas Network workers was live. Ian Cunningham, from Northern Gas Networks, said: “Investigations are ongoing with BT.”
