A blogger from the Keighley area is about to take part in her first ever skydive in memory of a baby girl who died suddenly this year.

Michelle Crowther, 31, of Goose Eye, will be jumping with eight other blogging mums from across the country this Saturday morning.

The mass jump will take place at Brackley, near Oxford. It is dedicated to the memory of Matilda Mae, the nine-month-old daughter of fellow blogger Jennie ‘Edspire’ who died in February.

Michelle and the other members of the blogging community are coming together to celebrate Matilda Mae’s life and to raise funds for The Lullaby Trust.

This charity provides specialist support for families like Jennie’s, who are bereaved through Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Michelle said: “I’ve never taken on a challenge like this before. The prospect of hurling myself out of a plane at 10,000 feet is daunting but it’s for such a great cause and in memory of a such a beautiful girl.

“Matilda Mae’s mum Jennie is an inspiration, which is why we wanted to show her how much we care in a spectacular way.”

The Lullaby Trust’s chief executive, Francine Bates, said: “We’re delighted to have the support of such a fantastic community of mums.

"It’s an incredibly brave thing they’re doing for us and we wish them all the very best.”
