Worshippers at Keighley’s biggest mosque were encouraged to use the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as an additional incentive to quit smoking.
The Emily Street Mosque was visited by Bradford Council South Asian community development worker Mohammed Idrees, who distributed information leaflets and a script for the imam to read out to the congregation.
He was pleased with how the visit had gone, adding that it was an excellent way of transmitting the stop smoking message to hundreds of people.
He said: “This year we’ve linked our Ramadan campaign with the national smoke-free homes and cars campaign.”
