A primary school has been given permission to admit younger children into its nursery.
The Government is in the process of expanding free classes to more disadvantaged two-year-olds.
As a result, St Stephen’s C of E Primary in Gaythorne Road, Bradford, had asked for permission to alter the legal lower age limit of its nursery pupils to two years old.
Bradford Council’s executive agreed to the move.
And it also agreed that if any more schools wanted to follow suit, the decision could be delegated to Kath Tunstall, the strategic director of children’s services, instead of having to be considered by councillors.
