A Bradford Crown Court judge yesterday branded a Ministry of Justice policy as “absolutely farcical”.
Judge Peter Benson, who was dealing with a breach of curfew when a man removed his electronic tag, had asked a prosecutor for the G4S security company for details of the original offence – but was told it was MoJ policy not to disclose them to G4S.
Judge Benson said it was fortunate he had dealt with the case originally and he knew the details. He asked G4S to write to the Recorder of Bradford to point out the anomaly.
