Police helped motorists to secure their number plates in a bid to stop them being stolen.
Officers from the West Yorkshire Police Neighbourhood Policing Team and members of Guiseley Neighbourhood Watch mounted a day long initiative – Prevention on a Plate – in the town.
The event, in the Wetherby Whaler car park, was staged free of charge, in a bid to tackle an increase in the theft of number plates. Police say thieves are using the stolen plates as temporary cover for their own plates while they commit crimes.
Pudsey MP Stuart Andrew attended the event along with Guiseley and Rawdon Councillor Pat Latty.
Mr Andrew said: “I was very pleased to see so many people coming to take advantage of the excellent Prevention on a Plate.”
