Sounds of the countryside will be combined with music from the Last Night of the Proms in Silsden next weekend.

The tenth Proms on the Farm will be staged at Sycamore Farm, Brunthwaite, on Saturday, July 20.

Over the years, the event has raised tens of thousands of pounds for Manorlands Hospice and Silsden Methodist Church.

“This year promises to be the best yet,” said organiser Rosalie Holroyd. Music will be provided by the Skelmanthorpe Band and soloist will be cardiac nurse Sarah Halstead.

Also taking to the stage will be For One Night Only – formed to play at the first Proms – and Five & Dimers Country and Western Band.

The show starts at 7pm, although the field will be open from 2pm. Tickets cost £10 from Twiggs Newsagents, on Kirkgate, or call (01535) 654509.
